The roll of the ankle is one of those things that you scoff at unless you have felt its wrath. A few summers ago I was a counselor at Tyler Hill Camp and was playing hoops with my 15 year old campers on a mini-hoop. I went to throw down a serious tomahawk jam and instead of leaving the ground, I rolled my ankle. I spent the rest of the summer on crutches. The most annoying part of the ankle roll is that once you have done it, you are actually more likely to keep doing it. Here is a little tip for anyone who actually wants to see how prone you are to rolling your ankle - close your eyes and try to balance yourself on one foot. The harder this exercise is the more likely you are to get rolled. Its all about balance.
