When I’m not blogging or watching St. John’s (and now the Knickerbockers) Basketball, I’m pouring most of my heart, soul and herniated L5-S1 vertabrate into Sportsvite. This summer I moved into the General Manager role which has brought a whole new slew of managerial responsibilities. It’s been an interesting challenge. As Aristotle might have once said, the non-chaotic digital start-up isn’t worth starting.

Start-ups move quick so it’s tricky to keep all of my networks and contacts updated on our progress. For Sportsvite’s business partners and clients we regularly send out a corporate update newsletter. But I haven’t properly blogged about Sportsvite since the July 2007. So for all you lucky little Littyhoopsters out there you’re about to get it straight from this blogger’s keyboard…

Once upon a time, circa 2006, Sportsvite.com officially launched with the simple goal to make it easier for people to connect with each other to organize and manage their sports activities. We focused on adult sports because we wanted to create the solution to the very problem that we faced. I, for one, still have a yearning desire to brick three-pointers, pull softballs way foul, and run very slowly. Sports are well organized for youth, high school and even college athletics. But enter the world of adulthood, move to a new city, and start a non-sports professional career and it becomes considerably more difficult to play. In fact our original Sportsvite tagline was Stop Playing With Yourself. Sportsvite’s mantra is that playing sports is just as much fun for an adult. Our aim is to leverage digital and social media to make it easier to do just that.

Sportsvite.com has grown into an online community with over 150K registered members. It helps thousands of people play their favorite sports and activities. Sportsvite members can find other players, teams or leagues in their area. It also makes the life of a rec sports team captain a bit more organized. Along the way, we realized in order to make Sportsvite a scalable and sustainable business we needed to aggregate MILLIONS of players on Sportsvite.com. To do this, we needed to have an even bigger impact on recreational sports.

The first place we looked was at the local sports leagues (think the Urban Professional League or NYCSSC here in NYC). It was clear that these leagues are creating the opportunities for adults to play their favorite team sports. Over 1500 league organizations were using Sportsvite to create league profiles (NYC Partners) to promote their sports leagues to the Sportsvite community (similar to how a business or organization will create a profile on Facebook). This is just a fraction of the thousands of sport & social clubs, parks & rec, YMCA and private local rec sports leagues that can be found in every city, town and neighborhood.

Most league organizers operate as a type of local event producer. They secure field space, hire refs and staff, manage registration and schedules, communicate directly with team captains and players, and produce sports events weekly. We spoke with hundreds of sports league organizers to understand how technology could help leagues more efficiently operate and expand their business. Most league organizers simply didn’t have the expertise or free capital to invest in digital solutions.

In 2010 we launched LeagueApps. Our goal is for it to be the best digital solution to power adult recreational sports leagues. So far, the feedback and response has been promising. Since it was launched in the early fall over 25 leagues have joined the platform. Just this month we’ve launched new league partners in Miami (Miami SSC) Philadelphia (Philly Sports Network), Phoenix (Coed Sports Arizona) and Los Angeles (All City Athletics). Next we plan to work with our league partners to enhance the LeagueApps platform to improve the experience for their members. This includes social media integration, mobile functionality, team management features (death to the dreaded forfeit!) and e-commerce features.

Local sports leagues can be a valuable platform for brands and marketers that want to reach young, active adults through both experiential (at the field) and digital marketing efforts. Yet most leagues don’t have the audience reach or sales experience to secure sponsorship deals. Most brands can’t build a program that has enough size or impact for it to be worthwhile. So Sportsvite has networked these leagues together to aggregate an audience of active young adults. We call it the Recreational Sports Network and it allows our league partners to opt into brand sponsorships opportunities. Over 500 leagues have joined the RSN which represents 1MM+ adult sports players. Through the RSN, we’ve completed sponsorship programs for Clif Bar, Corona, Smokey Bones Bar + Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings and POWERADE.

As Sportsvite builds up its presence in adult recreational sports we’re also looking at other sectors of sports that can use a digital upgrade. Sports camps, AAU tournaments, church leagues, fitness clubs and youth sports are on the radar screen. Amazingly, many of the 5.5MM students that play college intramurals are still going down to the fieldhouse to sign up for their leagues with paper and pen!

We like to think about what the recreational sports world will be like in the next generation. I got to say it’s awesome. Every single at bat, jump shot, second serve and first down will be recorded digitally and shared with your friends, teammates and competition. Every player will have all their stats and results to see how they fare against their friends. Ask any recreational athlete if they would like to feel more like a pro. There answer will be a resounding Marv Albertesque YES. Hit a game-winning shot and read about it on a local blog. Win a league sportsmanship award sponsored by Mastercard…Priceless!

Once a person taps into their passion great things happen. By great things I’m talking about a fantasy sports league made up of your friends in your local rec sports league. Imagine that. Or look at it from a utility angle. How about a mobile app to find, organize or create a pick-up game on the fly by seeing who checks in at the local park.

In the future, everyone will have their 15 minutes of Sportscenter fame.

I was planning on writing a preview/projection type blog post on the 2009 Michigan Football season. It was going to be optimistically lush and chronicle the Space Emperor’s quest for the Ray Guy Award (best college punter), Nick Sheridan’s second year poise and improved klutzability, Shoelace Robinson’s kicks and point guard turned slot receiver Kelvin Grady challenging Martavious Odoms for first string shlemiel at the flanker position.

Before I could lay down my whole megillah, the Detroit Free Press (are they even a newspaper anymore?) decides they want to publish a hatchet job on UM — a shanda fur die goy. When I first heard about this whole shtunk and all the dreck I wanted to blame Dick Rod. Heck, I have blamed him for every other crappy thing that has happened to the program since he rode his wagon into town 20 months ago. But the more I’ve learned the last few days the more this smells of NOR.

I’m willing to wager that every major college program practices just as much as Michigan. One pisher who has transferred coming forward with any kind of negative sentiment surely does not warrant a thorough investigation, ESPN news conferences and the insane tumult that this story has received. My guess (and I usually have a decent pulse on the NCAA) is that this blows over in the next few weeks and Michigan gives itself a light slap on the wrist and adheres strictly to the practice rules in the future. The NCAA doesn’t want to open up this can of borscht as it’s virtually impossible to differentiate between voluntary and mandatory practices.

So let’s hope and assume that this current hullabaloo disappears as quickly as Justin Feagin’s shipment of cocaine. My friend and life long Michigan friend Ben wrote to me that he’s “hoping this in the long run 5, 10, 20 years from now is only a blip on the radar, he will be our ron zook between spurrier and meyer or mike walsh between gene stallings and nick saban”. I agree. If only Rich Rod is our Elijiah Ingram in between Erick Barkley and Marcus Hatten.

Where does this leave the Wolverine Football program heading into 2009?

Talentless. I’m not exactly sure how this happened but the nebbish talent pool on this season’s team rivals a DPhiE date party. Michigan has three legit above-average Big Ten starters on this team – Brandon Minor, Donavon Warren and Brandon Graham. The rest of the players are a collection of backups and shleps, none of who would have sniffed the field in the first seven years of this decade. My buddy Vant was all ferdrayt because he wanted to buy a jersey but didn’t know what player’s number to get. I don’t blame him. It’s tough to get excited to rock Renaldo Sagesse, Boubacar Cissoko or Obi Exeh threads.

The weird part is that Michigan has had a top 15 recruiting class in each of the last five years. Early departures, transfers, state law, and the erosion of family values have prevented many decently ranked recruits from staying enrolled in Ann Arbor longer than acclaimed film director Zach Sherman stint in A-squared. The most inexplicable travesty is the inability to trot out a capable quarterback. It was bad that we lost out on Terrelle Pryor to Ohio State. Michigan is actually going into the season opener planning to play all three shmegegges. Nick Sheridan is back with his shmedrick arm, along side QB Force Tres and Shoelace Robinson. Ay Gavalt!

I really don’t want to get too much into evaluating Rodriguez because I’ve said or written it all already. I don’t like him and I’m counting down the days until he is gone. He might be a decent coach and is certainly a real macher. He did a good job at West Virginia – give him kudos for keeping Pac Man and Chris Henry out of prison and there mishegoss in check. It’s just that he’s not the right guy for Michigan. He came into the program with lots of chutzpah and made it clear he wants to run a program his way and doesn’t want to be bothered with the history and tradition of a place like Michigan (He tried to turn their road uniforms into yellow shmattas). That’s certain to be an issue at a school in which the history and tradition is almost as important as winning.

My buddy Da Bwetty took it one step further. “Players recruited by Lloyd and his staff were met with a guy who knew no more about the Michigan program than a freshman girl who traded her ticket away for a salad at Mr. Greeks. Instead of Cinderalla Man and a fatherly figure the players got a rule-bender and his UFC fitness program. Rodriguez may be a good coach, he may be more passionate about football than anyone we could imagine, but the West Virginia way is not the Michigan way, its that simple.”

I’m not sure why Michigan would hire a zhlub who blatantly doesn’t fit into their value system (let alone tradition, style of play, or recruiting methods). Leave it to some gold old Midwesterners to be shmoozed by a slick talking, sun burned West Virginian gonif.

From the highlights of Monday’s press conference, it seems like Rodriguez is starting to feel fershlugina (although that could very well be shtick). He was back to being a hok a chanik during this interview on ESPN this morning on First Take. I imagine one negative story on top of another starts to bare down on a program. But I have no rachmones for Rodriguez’s tsoriss. And boy, have there been some negative stories coming out of A2. Here is a timeline.

The Matzah Ball Soup Is Half Full
I hate to be a total kvetcher and it’s always easier to plotz, especially when the going is rougher than a winter’s walk across campus to the Frieze building. So I’ll channel my inner Roy and come up with some happy thoughts.

Michigan’s first four games are manageable and even if they can’t handle the Irish at the Big House there is still a good chance they can start the season 3-1. Hopefully, all that extra practice pays off and the team actually knows what it’s doing this season with one year of the spread offense under its belt. One of the QB klutzes steps up to bring some stability behind center and shows glimmers of hope for the future. The young guys play well enough to keep it interesting all season. Minor stays healthy and breaks out to be the best back in the Big Ten. Michigan manages to hover around .500 in conference play….I give up. What a luftmensh I am! This team sucks!!!!

It used to be dreams of a perfect season and running naked down Vaughn screaming out my allegiance to Philip Brabbs. This season might be my least anticipated college football season since the pre Marvin Graves days (I was a die-hard Syracuse fan growing up). Gornisht helfn.

Rewind back to my senior year of high school. After I was rejected from my top eight nerd colleges and decided to go to Michigan I figured that at the least I’d be able to shep naches for the football team for the rest of my life. Rich Rod is ruining that.

Gai kakhen afenyam Putz Rod. Essen brek drek.

A few months ago I thunk out a blog post that I titled “Fantwitsy Sports” . I wrote about the appeal of a twitter based fantasy sports game from both a product and a business standpoint. Besides the blog being sent out to the regulars (mia, klien, cuz Stacey, Evanter, etc), I also emailed the post to a few dozen people who I thought might be interested or able to provide feedback.

I received a comment and an email from a developer in NYC named Kevin Marshall. Kevin has been in the fantasy sports space for quite awhile and had a bunch of very similar ideas on how fantasy sports should leverage the twitter platform to create new types of games. A few lunches later (and the recruitment of a talented designer who designed the site and created a sick logo) and we agreed to go for it and see if we could do any damage.

This week we launched our first actual fantasy game called Pennant Race Drive. It is a baseball prediction game in which a player can tweet up to five predictions per day on which teams will win and which players will hit a Home Run that night. Obviously predicting who will hit the long ball is far more difficult than which teams will win and therefore the payoff is 10x greater.

Win/Loss = 1 point
Home Run = 10 points

I’d love to see all you fantasy sports + twitter heads to give the game a shot. If you want to predict team wins include up to five teams (full nickname), the hashtag #win, and the #gawkit hashtag, or http://gawk.it within the tweet. If you want to predict Home Runs then use players full names plus the #HR. Be sure to include #gawkit or http://gawk.it so that the tweet is picked up by the gawk.it scoring enginge.

Here are a few examples
Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada will all go yard tonite #HR #gawkit

The Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox will all #win http://gawk.it

Only one type of prediction will register for each tweet. Also, the last five predictions that you log each day will count. All predictions need to occur at least 10 minutes before the game starts.

You can check out all the rules and details for the game at http://gawk.it website. Be sure to join the Littyhoops group to compete against yours truly. The game will continue throughout the season and we’re giving away Amazon Gift cards to weekly winners ($25) as well as the overall winner ($100).

In addition, we’re also donating one penny per correct tweet to the DonorsChoose.org organization (a charity that I recently blogged about). The overall winner of Pennant Race Drive will determine which school projects we will donate too. I’m excited by this philanthropic angle. As the game grows in popularity so to will our contribution to a great cause.

We’re excited to have something up and running and see if it sticks. Twitter is an extremely viral platform so if you like the game please just send out a few tweets to your followers and help us spread the good word. You can easily just retweet this message.

The Gawk.It game engine is built upon the twitter platform (using twitter’s open API’s) and this allows us to easily create all different kinds of fantasy games for just about any sport or statistical category. We’re already thinking about what we should do for football season and beyond.

Hit me up if you want to chat some more about gawk.it or the Pennant Race Drive.

Back in 1994, my dad innocently pulled me and Lisa out of school one afternoon and took us to the first round of the NCAA tournament at Nassau Coliseum. We didn’t really know what to expect, but the idea of going to watch basketball games instead of another afternoon of middle school sounded like a splendid idea.

It took Lisa and I less than a few hours of wondering around a sleepy half-full arena to fall in love with the tournament. We watched a #1 UCONN team featuring Donyell Marshall, Ray Allen and Doran Sheffer play a surprisingly close game to Rider (after meeting Rider all-star Charles Smith in the stands before the game!). We hung out with the dynamic Penn backcourt of Matt Maloney and Jerome Allen during the day and then watched their electric performance that night in upsetting Nebraska and their Polish Rifle Eric Piatkowski. We even got a cameo appearance of Yinka Dare and watched a Florida team (that would eventually make it to the Final Four) barely survive the regional behind a guy named D’meat Hook.

It took seven long years, but we finally made it back to the first round when the tournament returned to Nassau Coliseum in 2001. It was my sophomore year of college and I convinced Colby to come back to Long Island for the games. We watched a retarded Holy Cross center attempt free throws and spotted Tayshawn Prince at Roosevelt Field Mall.

In 2002, we really stepped up our game and planned a trip to Chicago with Colby, Brett and Weilgus and in which Lisa and Howie Hoops would meet up with us. We stayed in Colby’s grandparents house in Flossmore and even rendezvoused with the Roach Digga who was in town peddling forged Shannahan autographed 8″ by 10″s.

Since then it’s been a Litty family tradition (check out this AWESOME SPREADSHEET that Lisa created) to travel to a first round site every year including Indianapolis, Raleigh, Worcester, Philly, and Tampa. The one constant is Howie Hoops (it was almost Wally’s red highlighter) who is the only human to have made it to every single tournament (I missed 2004 when I was living in San Diego). In 2007, we were snowed out en route to Chicago and stranded on the LaGuardia runway for hours before our flight was eventually cancelled. The experience has left a dark mark over they year of 2007 for all of eternity.

This Thursday, the entire Litvack crew is heading down to Philly (with the Cohen clan) to continue the tradition. The teams and draw is questionable (UCONN and Nova yet again. Who cares about Morman and Aggies) but you never really know. Last year we went to Tampa not expecting much and history was made when all four lower seeded teams pulled off stunning first round upsets. At one point, I turned around to find a horrified look on Courtney’s face (a relative new-comer to the tradition) as she watched dad tell the Vanderbilt players to “go to hell” as they were jogging into the locker room at halftime against upstart #13 Siena.

This tournament tradition has turned into quite the main event in the LittyHoops household. Howie Hoops has been calculating the logistics (tickets, travel schedules, hotel reservations and hour by hour itinerary’s) for at least the last three months. It’s near impossible to have a full-fledged conversation with him without it drifting straight into tournament talk. My mom and Courtney now come to the tourney and sit through four full games even though they have no idea who’s playing!

This year has an added wrinkle in that Michigan plays on Thursday at the same time as the Philly games. In brainstorming possible solutions to not miss the game (watch in the hallway, hustle down to Chicky and Pete’s, etc) Lisa blurted out that she somehow knows the password to the Wachovia Center’s Wi-Fi signal. I’ve already secured a few iPhone’s and now have a technical solution that will rival my twitter updates for geekiest college basketball fan alive.

By the way, check out this video of Crisler Arena going bonkers after Michigan is announced in the field. I wish i was there!

Some Littyhoops Tourney Tidbits

This will be the 5th time that we see UCONN in 9 years including our last four tournaments. This kind of sucks as we all hate UCONN (except Mitch who considers himself a family friend of AJ Price).

This is the 3rd year in a row that we are seeing Villanova. When they were announced my dad looked at me in disgust and said “Ugh, we have to see Jay Wright again!”

Teams that we’ve seen twice include Western Kentucky, Creighton, Southern Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, Holy Cross, Kentucky and Arizona

Biggest upsets: we’ve seen three #13 seeds win (Vermont, Siena, San Diego),

Top 7 L-Hoops Tourney Highlights

#7 Florida Tuba Players and Creighton Upset
I’m not sure who spotted them (maybe Aaron) but the the Florida marching band had some of the fattest Tuba Players to ever blow a horn and it somehow initiated a massive laughing attack in my dad which than spread throughout all of us. It was the first game of the day and it set the tone for a miraculous comeback by Creighton which won on a a game winning three pointer in Double Overtime.

#6 Discovering Dwayne Wade
Travis Deiner was actually the star that weekend but Wade was so silky smooth and hit the clutch shot every time Marquette needed it. Nobody had any idea how great of a star Wade would become but looking back it’s great we had a chance to see him shine so early in his career.

#5 Courtney Sleeps!
This happened in Raleigh and I wasn’t there to witness it but rumor has it that Courtney fell asleep in Raleigh while Duke was playing! There is always a danger (in Mitch’s case a certainty) of falling asleep at some point during the day and it’s the easiest way to get banned and ridiculed for decades to come!

#5 Drew Nicholas Game-Winner!
We weren’t actually at this game. Instead we were watching it in some random hotel bar in Indianopolis. Nicholas hit the shot from the corner and Hillman went nuts running through the hotel bar and then the hotel lobby dopily running hunch-shouldered. The moment was so surreal that I’m still not sure if it was even real BRO.

#3 The Pauldings, Ricky Cleamons and Arthur Johnson
Quinn Snyder’s 2003 Missouri squad was a peculiar bunch that we got to know all two well over the course of a few days. We saw at least a dozen family members around the arena all in Ricky Paulding jersey’s throughout the week. Matt took a liking to a pudgy center named Arthur Johnson and we watched Ricky Clemons put on one of the worst individual performances in the history of the tournament. To this day I’m convinced the game was fixed and he was on the take. This theory has been strengthened now that Clemons is in jail!

#2 Sorrentine’s Prayer
This might be the #1 moment. The only problem is that I wasn’t there. I had rooted for Vermont all season but had to work that day. Lisa and Dad were in the tiny Worcester arena to see Coppenrath and Sorrentine take on the defending national champs. As legend goes, Lisa was going back and forth with a Syracuse fan all game. With time winding down in a close ball game, Sorrentine basically pulled up from half-court and swished a three to ice the game. The place went nuts and from my seat on Hillman’s couch I was jealous I wasn’t there!

#1 Upset City – Tampa
Last year, Tampa provided one of the greatest day of basketball watching one could ever imagine with two #12’s and two #13’s upsetting the favored teams. The Drake vs. Western Kentucky is the most thrilling fast-paced, momentum-turning game I’ve ever seen.

A natural extension of my gig is actually going out and playing sports. In fact, a passion for sports might as well be a job requirement to work at Sportsvite. These days, I’m playing on three softball teams and I’m also in a Tuesday night wiffle ball league. I feel like my buddy Blake Remer, who has played in more consecutive (rec sports) games than Cal Ripken Jr.

Last Wednesday I had one of my most memorable and interesting rec sports experiences on the Great Lawn in Central Park. I wrote about it immediately on the Sportsvite company blog. BTW, I’ve been spending lots of time writing on that blog lately so if YBIML doesn’t give you your L-hoops blog fix go check out wRECk Sports.

If you clicked on over and read the post about my experience with the High Times Bonghitters I mention a TV personality who asked to join our team via Sportsvite. His name is Roger Clark and he is an assignment reporter at NY1 on the morning show.

Last summer Sportsvite decided to partner with the NYC Corporate Athletic League and Zenbu Media to develop and organize The Battle For Manhattan. The event is an NYC athletic competition that consists of different sports events that promote the goodwill and spirit of New York City.

Sportsvite wants to make it easier for adults to play sports so we figured there is no better way than actually organizing a sports event in our hometown. You can visit the website at www.battleformanhattan.com or read the Sportsvite blog to learn more about the event. Events are always a bit chaotic in the first year but the Battle is shaping up nicely and I can envision one day having a big NYC color war and even having the event spread to other cities.

Thursday night we are having a kickoff party at Honey (243 W. 14th Street – btwn 7th and 8th Ave) from 7:00-10:00PM. I will be there for awhile and so will athlete captains Troy “Escalade” Jackson, volleyball star Dain Blanton, and 400M world record holder Kevin Young. If you are around stop by for a drink. Afterwards, I’ll be going somewhere to watch the Sweet 16.

The first event is a 5K run through the Hudson River Park that takes place this Sunday at 10am. I was planning on training for the run throughout March but instead decided to sit on my ass and eat lots of junk food. I will participate in the other sports (basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball) that all start next week. You can the schedule of event.

Please hit me up if you have any interest in participating in the run or playing in any of the sports events and I’ll hook you up nice. Are you can always go the regular route and register for the event on the website. Also, check out the Facebook page.

The event has received some great press lately with an article in Time Out New York and blurbs on Fox News, Crain’s Business, the Village Voice and the New York Post. We’ve also been lucky enough to find great sponsors in Crunch Fitness, Awake Energy Drink, The New York Post and CustomInk. It should be a great event so jump onboard.

My apartment building allows pets and my deck/backyard makes it super easy to take Max out when he need to go. I even decided to bring Max to work instead of keeping him locked up in my apartment all day.

Bringing your dog to work is one of those things that make you realize you work at a start-up and not in corporate America. We have great office space (about 5,000 square feet) on Madison Avenue that takes up the entire 5th floor of a small building. Yet, we are still very much a start-up. Here are some unique experiences that only could only happen at a start-up like [212] Media.

I will stroll into the office at 10:15 AM tomorrow morning and I will be one of the first people in the office.

It’s 12:30 AM and I just sent out an email to four people. They all replied within 10 minutes. I’ll probably be up doing work for a few more hours.

Our internet works 82% of the time. When it doesn’t I bring my laptop next to a window and “borrow” access from somebody else.

We have an office wiffle ball team and our last company outing was a ping pong tournament.

Everybody in the office is addicted to cheez-its and famous amos cookies and they are somehow always stocked in the pantry.

I’m not sure if I have vacation time. If people aren’t in the office they just send an email to everybody in the company a few days before they go away.

We have more interns than employees.

Every piece of furniture in the office is from Ikea

My job titles include Director of Business Development, Director of Marketing, Sales Executive, Copywriter, Customer Service rep, Account Manager and Project Manager.

Depending on my meetings schedule for the day I may wear a suit or more likely flip flops and cargo shorts.

I’m excited to close our first big deal so I can order a ping pong table for the conference room

Our voicemail system was broken for 4 days and nobody said anything

If you want to print something you have to go over to the printer and futz around with the scotch tape holding the front door together.

I sign my own expense reports.

I probably have a few more good examples but can’t think of them right now. Hope, you get the gist. If you ever want to know more about what it is like to work at Sportsvite hit me up and we can chat.

Last week I launched a basketball contest on Sportsvite called “Play With The Pros”. The contest allows basketball players to submit their own highlight videos. A panel of expert judges along with the entire sportsvite community determines the best player. That player will receive a private tryout with an ABA team and is guaranteed to play in at least one game with the team as the 13th man.

I was pumped for this contest. It takes a lot to pull something like this off but our team did a great job coordinating all the moving parts and the ABA has been a perfect partner. We need to ramp up on entries and the contest hasn’t received the press coverage I was hoping for but we’ll go back to the drawing board and figure out how to maximize results on both counts.

If you want a good laugh, listen to my interview on ABA All-Access Radio with Robby Kendall. My mom couldn’t be any prouder (that’s one of many reasons why Mom’s are great). My little sister gave me a hard time for repeating um….ummm…ummm throughout the conversation. Personally, I think I sound like a weirdo. This was definitely not a Mike and the Mad Dog worthy performance. Perhaps I have a new found respect for those bozos.

Check out the contest intro video by our partners at Intramuralglory.com.

Sportsvite was featured on WABC morning news in New York City today. The feature ran at about 6:15 AM. I set my alarm and tried to wake-up to watch it but I fell back asleep. Thank go for TiVo. 7online.com, the website for WABC-TV, also featured the segment on their homepage for most of the day. You can watch it here.

I was supposed to go down to Central Park last week and meet with the Sportsvite players and WABC reporters but I had a business lunch that had already been rescheduled a few times and I couldn’t get out of it. So Vin gets the 15 minutes of fame. I’ve been giving him a hard time for dropping the Quidditch reference but he did a solid job.

I wrote more about the story and how it came about on the Sportsvite Blog.
