My Hair Cycle
For the last few years I’ve been employing a liberating hair style. Basically, I let my curly hair grow for five or six months until it is completely unruly and becomes a total jewfro. Then I buzz it all off.
I’m at about that point in the cycle where I’m sick of my hair. I’m using way too much gel to keep it tidy and I look like a 1980’s middle reliever when I wear a cap. So in the next week or two I’m going to take the cathartic plunge and reinvent myself with a clean shaved head. The last time I did this was the end of June and I decided to video tape the delicate procedure.
I’ve blogged about my hair styles once before. I’m not sure what’s up with the fascination. I guess I’m digging the self-expression and until i learn how to dress or get my long coveted tattoo I make my fashion statements with the mop-top/buzz cut.
I had trouble digitizing the video (I need a new camera!) so the sound is a bit off. It seems like I’m narrating a silent film of myself and I must admit it is kind of a bug out.
