My friend Brett sent me a great email yesterday. I’m not sure how he comes up with such eloquent analysis but he does. Check out his Lebron email. When I heard Rick Ankiel hit a homer in his return to the major I thought it was a cute story. Like many people, I kind of [...]
I’ve been following the Michael Vick fiasco and it makes me sick to my stomach….and it has nothing to do with how he treated poochie. I’ve discussed his situation with different people in the context of talking sports. Most people disagree with my views on the matter but the more I think about it the [...]
Back in my formulative college days I questioned just about everything about my life that there was to question…except sports. I have an innate love/passion for sports and that’s just the way it is. If my future wife doesn’t get this she probably won’t be my future wife. College basketball makes me happy, period. ESPN [...]
Written and sent out by my boy Brett today who lays it down better than i can. Here’s hoping Lebron continues his journey and allows us all to witness it. I don’t know about you guys but I am pumped for Bron Bron in the finals. I clearly remember sitting in the United Center Junior [...]
By now you probably have had enough of my college basketball posts so this will be the last one for awhile. Part of the magic of the NCAA tournament, and arguably my favorite three minutes each year, is when CBS plays a video montage of highlights from the NCAA basketball tournaments set to the song [...]
I read recently that running back Dominick Williams was cut by the Houston Texans. You probably know Williams as Dominick Davis, his name before he was injured. He must have rehabbed really really well because he repaired his name in the process. Shortly after changing his name Williams/Davis told the Houston media, “That was Domanick [...]
There’s a new O.J. coming to LA and he’s one bad ass…. It feels like I have been hearing about high school basketball star O.J. Mayo since forever. As he finally approaches college it seems like he is a bad, bad apple. In January, he assaulted a referee after being ejected from a game. Then [...]
I was going to write a post about Tommy Amaker being fired and evaluate his potential replacements but my friend Wolk beat me to it by sending out a great email today (a copy is below). I agree with Wolk that we need a coach who can recruit and coach. Although Michigan has a great [...]
One of the reasons I fell in love with college basketball as a kid was because there seemed to be an infinite universe of schools, players and storylines. I used to wonder how every team had such a good record. What happened to the teams with bad records? Were they like the guys in the [...]
This week of March Madness is far and away my favorite week of the year. First, Championship week leads up to selection sunday (today). The next few days are great for filling out your brackets and to build up tremendous anticipation. Thursday and Friday are my favorite two days of the year. I’ll probably take [...]
